My name is Odile Raphael and I am originally from West Africa. My immigration journey started in 2006 in Ottawa where I landed for study and study again. I chose Ottawa because it’s a bilingual city and I could easily interact more comfortably in my first language (French) to English without so much confusion. My name “Odile” means “Wealth” an accumulation of valuable resources according to Google definition meaning that Wealth is a combination of Physical, Financial, Spiritual and Economical resources a person can possess. With that being said; I’ve been all over the places in my search for a job/career satisfaction for about 15 years. I’m currently working in the Healthcare Home management and Community Services with Victorian Order of Nurses since 2020. Prior Education and professional training includes Hotel Management and Restaurant, Security/ Private Investigation services, Police Foundation and working at a Manufacturing Auto Parts Assembly.
Behind the description above or outside of work; I am a caring Mother to two beautiful children, a Spouse, a Friend, a Sister in Christ and a part time Drama Minister at my local Church RCCG. I personally love to give (time, money, and resources) cheerfully to anyone I am able to.
My aspiration to become and own a business birthed since 2011. I began with what is popularly known as World Financial Group (WFG). I studied, got my license and began harassing everybody in my contact list to join me so I can earn a little commission. None of that seemed to work but, I value learning.
Next thing I did or tried was e-commerce; selling Print on Demand products on Amazon, eBay and Etsy. Needless to say I made no sale, only hard work. Then I stumbled on a YouTube add about Freelance/ Affiliate Marketing which I’m currently working on.
We all face challenges, but it's how we handle them that defines our success. Looking back, I realize those tough times equipped me with invaluable tools to handle the pressures that come with higher stakes. Just as diamonds are made under pressure; my current struggles are molding me for the next level.
Other things I love doing is to spend time with my daughters in the Park, outside or indoor play, reading, listening to Gospel songs & uplifting messages; cooking and cleaning as part of a loving, dutiful wife.
There’s a Chinese Proverb saying that “the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step”. For me; these are the days of small beginning and I believe that my Determination will cause FAILURE to become SUCCESS. I am sincerely grateful to God for the journey so far and with my family’s love and support; I trust Him for greater height even as I aspire to give more by His grace.
